Toronto 21st August, 2013 – The non-profit Canada Cloud Network (CCN) launches a new high-tech industry task force to position Canada as the most globally trusted Cloud hosting country for sensitive data, enabling the nation to become thought of as the “Switzerland of the Cloud.”
Canada’s leading technology experts, innovators and entrepreneurs have joined forces within the CCN to take advantage of the world’s lack of confidence in USA-based Cloud hosting since the Edward Snowden PRISM scandal.
The non-profit organization will bring together and showcase those Canadian companies, industry best practices and home grown technologies that make up ‘Cloud Privacy By Design‘, the personal information protections recommended by Ontario Privacy Commissioner Ann Cavoukian, applied to these new outsourced Cloud service scenarios.
The CCN will help Canadian Cloud suppliers to increase their international market-share and secure business from all over the world, through an exciting schedule of international trade missions beginning with the UK, USA and Europe.

VP Communications, CCN
CEOs and CIOs from across Canada’s Cloud industry have been invited to the CCN Advisory Board, to provide critical insights into defining the Canada Cloud Roadmap.
Founder Neil McEvoy, a veteran Cloud Computing entrepreneur, says “The Conference Board of Canada has been reporting a seemingly unstoppable decline in Canada’s position as a global innovator, but this is an equally unstoppable growth market. Cloud Computing is the single biggest seismic shift in the IT industry since the first computers and it’s happening today, presenting Canada with their window of opportunity to not only keep pace with the knowledge economy but to actually lead it in key areas.
Misha Nossik, CTO of AFORE Solutions and a founding Director says “One of the biggest barriers to Cloud adoption is achieving security compliance in the Cloud, and so our mission will be creating technology platforms to showcase jurisdiction-specific solutions for compliant and secure use of the Cloud in Canada, by Canadians and by the rest of the world”.
Oscar Jofre, Chairman of the CCN Board and CEO of Boardsuite added “With the launch of our new CFIP – Crowdfunding Infrastructure Platform, we are establishing Canada as a leader in the field of secure and compliant Cloud applications for exciting new innovation models. This will stimulate more grass roots projects and also bolster Canada’s tech sector, as the strict privacy requirements are common to many industries and Canada is uniquely positioned to be a leader in addressing these.”
